Alternative fuel cars get a discount in 2009-10 of £20 from bands A to I, £15 off bands J - M. In 2010 -11 they will be discounted by £10 from standard rates for all alt’ve fuel cars.
Light Goods Vehicles go up from £180 to £185 from 1/5/09, and then up to £200 from Apr 2010. However since Jan’ 2009 diesel vans that meet euro 4 and 5 emissions standards get a reduced rate, currently £120pa, rising to £125 from May 09 and remaining at that rate in 2010. Next change due 1st Apr 2010, see tables below to compare Cars emitting over 225 g/km, registered between 1/3/01 - 23/3/06 moved to new Band K in May 2009, and remain there in 2010.
